Small Photography Equipment

Last week my friends at FaveShots and I decided to take our photography experience a bit further and purchased an affordable, decent photography studio kit from www.kaezi.com, the kit arrived very quickly and the equipment was very easy to set up.

The best part of having a small studio set up at home is that you can always experiment with different angles and lighting, but this is not necessarily an easy task to do since we were having problems with getting as much light source as we could to get the right exposure. Well, as most of us know ISO needs to be as low as possible and aperture + shutter speed may vary depending on the type of shot you want. Testing my Nikon D3000 at many, many settings, finally ISO: 200; Aperture: f/5.6; Shutter speed: 1/40 did what I was looking for. We needed to give our subject a blurry background and we proceeded to move our subject at least two feet further away from it. Here are two other images where you can see us playing around with the lights and
camera settings to get the right shots.

Please excuse the quality of some of these images for they were taken from my Blackberry. After a few hours of experimenting this is what came of it and I was pretty satisfied with the settings and outcome. Here is a shot:

f/5.6; 1/25 s
ISO 200; 29mm

We are looking forward to our big session this weekend and hopefully catch some really good shots to share with you.
